MAN Plans €700 Million Investment in European Service Network
A Major Push for Workshop Coverage and Customer Support
MAN and its sales and service partners plan to invest around €700 million in their European service and sales network by the end of 2030. The programme combines MAN’s previously announced €300 million investment with a further €400 million from dealers, service partners and importers.
The investment will support new service centres, the modernisation of existing facilities and measures to improve regional network coverage and service quality. For a commercial vehicle brand, this is more than an infrastructure upgrade. It is a direct investment in uptime, customer retention and future service capacity.
Electrification and Digitalisation Take Centre Stage
Around one-third of the planned investment will be allocated specifically to electromobility and digitalisation. This includes high-voltage training for service employees, battery repair centres and publicly accessible charging points at MAN branches.
These priorities reflect the changing service requirements of the truck and bus sector. As fleets begin adding electric commercial vehicles, service networks must be able to handle high-voltage systems, battery diagnostics and new repair processes without compromising vehicle availability.
Shorter Travel Times for Fleet Operators
MAN also aims to reduce customer travel times to workshops. The company wants almost 80 percent of customers to be able to reach a MAN service centre within 30 minutes. This target applies across markets including Germany, Austria, Switzerland, France, the UK, Italy, Poland, Spain and Turkey.
Initial projects are already underway, including a new MAN-owned sales and service branch near Lisbon and a major Adampolis Group location in Kaunas, Lithuania. For the commercial vehicle aftermarket, the programme underlines how service density, technical readiness and digital capability are becoming core competitive advantages.
