Automechanika Frankfurt 2026 Highlights AI, Workshop Technology and New Components
The Aftermarket Moves Into a More Intelligent Era
Automechanika Frankfurt 2026 brought together around 4,400 exhibitors from more than 80 countries, confirming its position as one of the central global meeting points for the automotive aftermarket. The fully booked exhibition grounds covered approximately 300,000 square metres, with suppliers, parts manufacturers, workshop equipment providers and service companies presenting solutions across the full value chain.
This year’s focus was clear: digitalisation, artificial intelligence, new workshop technologies and sustainable repair concepts. Alongside traditional spare parts and tools, robotics, automation and software-led solutions played a more visible role.
Award-Winning Technology Sets the Direction
The Automechanika Innovation Awards received a record 185 submissions, with 47 finalists selected by an international jury. The winning solutions reflected the growing diversity of aftermarket innovation.
MAHA was recognised in the Smart Workshop & Service Solutions category for MAIA, a fully automated inspection robot combining several tests in one pass. MEYLE received an award for its HD brake disc, designed to offer improved wear and corrosion protection while reducing brake emissions. Bosch won in the AI Solutions & Digitalisation category for its Esitronic AI Assistant, which supports workshop employees with a chatbot-like search function for troubleshooting and repair information.
Digital Tools Meet Physical Components
The highlighted innovations show how the aftermarket is evolving on two fronts. Mechanical components are being developed for longer life, lower emissions and stronger durability. At the same time, AI, automation and digital systems are being integrated into workshop processes.
For parts distributors and workshops, the message from Frankfurt is direct: future competitiveness will depend not only on product range, but also on technical information, data quality, diagnostics and process efficiency.
