Bosch Financial Outlook 2026

Forecasts, Targets, and Financial Position

The Bosch Group has entered 2026 with a forward-looking growth strategy anchored in innovation, cost competitiveness, and targeted investment, despite an environment of persistent geopolitical tension and trade uncertainty. The company is forecasting 2 to 5 percent sales growth and an EBIT margin in the range of 4 to 6 percent for the year. In 2025, Bosch generated EUR 91.0 billion in revenues — a slight increase from the prior year, representing 4.1 percent growth after adjusting for currency effects. However, its EBIT margin fell to 2 percent as the company booked EUR 2.7 billion in structural and personnel provisions as part of a long-term viability programme. Bosch closed 2025 with EUR 300 million in free cash flow, an 8.7 percent R&D investment ratio, and a 41.6 percent equity ratio — metrics that underscore financial resilience going into a pivotal year.

Technology Pillars Driving the Expansion

Chairman Stefan Hartung has articulated four technology themes as the foundation for Bosch's profitable growth ambitions: automation, digitalisation, electrification, and artificial intelligence. Bosch registered 6,300 patents in 2025, making it one of the most prolific industrial patent applicants in Europe — a statistic that reflects the scale and depth of its innovation pipeline. In sensor technology and automated driving, new platforms such as the BMI5 inertial sensor and next-generation autonomous driving hardware are in active development. The company is also investing heavily in software-defined mobility, including its new AI Extension Platform, which uses interior sensing and AI-driven algorithms to personalise the in-vehicle experience dynamically — positioning Bosch at the intersection of hardware and software in next-generation vehicles.

AI in Bosch Consumer and Services Business

AI Accelerating Consumer Goods and Services

Artificial intelligence is not confined to Bosch's mobility portfolio. In consumer goods, AI-enabled products including smart ovens and advanced power tools are opening new revenue streams. In services, Bosch Global Service Solutions — the company's business process and customer experience division — expects double-digit sales growth by 2030, driven by AI-based applications that improve efficiency and customer engagement across multiple industries. This diversification of AI applications across business units reinforces Bosch's position as a broad-based technology group rather than a pure automotive supplier, giving it multiple growth vectors beyond the vehicle market. The integration of AI across product lines also allows Bosch to command premium pricing and create stickier customer relationships built on connected, intelligent products.

Capital Markets Flexibility and Resilience Measures

To improve financial agility in an uncertain macroeconomic environment, Bosch will publish interim consolidated financial statements for the first time — a move that enables more responsive access to capital markets when investment windows open. CFO Markus Forschner emphasised that enhancing competitiveness is essential to maintaining the resilience and investment capacity that Bosch's long-term R&D commitments require. With EUR 12 billion in combined R&D and capital expenditure committed in 2025 alone, the scale of Bosch's investment programme is substantial. Maintaining upfront spending at these levels while managing through geopolitical headwinds and inflationary pressure requires both disciplined cost management and the financial flexibility that improved capital market access provides. Bosch's combination of patent density, diversified revenue, and strong equity base positions it well to weather near-term uncertainty while investing in tomorrow's mobility ecosystem.
