AISIN has announced that its newly developed hybrid unit will be installed in Mitsubishi Motors Corporation’s latest hybrid model, the Xforce HEV, unveiled in Thailand. This marks AISIN’s first series-parallel hybrid unit, developed in collaboration with Mitsubishi Motors.

The hybrid system incorporates advanced manual transmission technology, featuring a dog clutch separation mechanism. This allows the system to intelligently switch between motor and engine drive modes, ensuring optimal fuel efficiency and delivering superior driving performance.

The manufacturing of the hybrid unit will take place at AISIN Powertrain (Thailand) Co. Ltd., marking the company’s first production of electric drive units in Southeast Asia. This move aligns with AISIN’s ongoing global electrification strategy.
